The first St Thomas Anglican Church, Narallen was opened on 10/11/1839, and in fact operated as a church/school. Despite many efforts over the years to erect a larger church building, this was not achieved until the present church building was opened on 16/9/1884, by Bishop Barry. A major impediment to an earlier building appears to have been objections from the first incumbent, The Rev Thomas Hassall, who also had charge of St Paul's, Cobbitty. The church building was deconsecrated in 2000 and sold. [Sourced from: https://www.theoldstthomaschapel.com.au/our-history]. It has subsequently been restored and is now used in a private business. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 27/11/2020.
