The Normanhurst Uniting Church is the amalgamation of the local Methodist and Presbtyerian Church congregations after Union in 1977. As a result there are at least two strands of church history that need to be woven together. This is not attempted here as the Methodist church had its beginnings about 1858 and the Presbyterians about 1924. The present church building was erected in 1962 for the Presbyterian Church.
