Church In The Trees/Morisset Uniting Church

Early Methodist services at Morisset were held about 1907, under the auspices of the Methodist Home Mission Department. The Morisset Uniting Church held its first service in its own building in June 1913 (some dispute over the actual date). 'For many years services were conducted on a monthly basis by lay preachers and ministers from Toronto. In the early days, travel was on horseback or by a sulky, then in 1950s by motorcar'  A new hall was built in 1965, and this eventually became used as the church in 1976. To cater for the needs of the congregation, the present larger site was purchased in 1994, and the original property sold. After some delays the present church building was opened on 12/4/1997.
