The Christ Church Anglican Church, Cootamundra (which functions with the Wallendbeen Anglican Church) is part of  the Parish of Cootamundra and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The earliest record of a church service in Cootamunfdra is 21/6/1863, and was held in a store and conducted by the Rev E Synge. Regular services began about 1874, initially being held in the Albion Hotel, until a sawn slab structure was erected for a church. This was replaced by a galvanised iron structure which was opened on 12/7/1878 and consecrated on 28/4/1901 by the Bishop of Goulburn, William Chalmers [Sourced from: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/143545683].
