Molong Express - 11 April 1908) "New Church at Cargo. On Sunday, March, 29, the new Roman Catholic Church - which was dedicated to St. Patrick - at Cargo was opened and blessed by the Right Rev. Dr. Dunne, Bishop of Bathurst. Visitors came from near and far to take part in this impressive ceremony. The new sacred edifice is splendidly situated, and besides is substantially constructed of brick, the floor space being 50ft x 25ft. The building cost close on £500, and promises received to the present amounted to over £490, while the amount already paid is £245. The Bishop was assisted at the various services by Revs. Doran and O'Kennedy. Two or three services were held during the day, while 30 candidates were also confirmed".
