The St Matthias Anglican Church, Denman is part of the Parish of Denman,(with with St Martin's, Martindale; St Luke's, Widden; Holy Trinity, Merriwa; St Mark's, Wybong and St Matthew, Mount Dangar) in the Diocese of Newcastle. The present church building held its first worship service on 5/8/1874, and was consecrated on 4/11/1875. It replaced an earlier 1851 structure which had been enlarged in 1861 at a different site.
