This former Bruce Memorial Presbyterian Church building is now privately owned.
"The Bruce family history in Cumnock began with the arrival of George Bruce from Scotland in 1854. After working at 'Burrawang Run' at Cumnock he purchased 'Loombah' in 1870. He married Janet Murray and they had two sons. The idea of building a Presbyterian church at Cumnock began with a deputation in 1905. Opened in 1909, the Bruce Memorial Presbyterian Church building was constructed through an initial bequest by Mr John Bruce (George's Brother) who donated the land and an initial 500 (pounds). Other monies were raised by local subscriptions and events. The church building was constructed between 1908 and 1909." (Information provided by Barbara Hickson 7/5/2018).
