Foundation Stone Notes:	The foundation stone of the first church building, now the hall, was laid in 1850 by the Rev George Hurst. The text on the foundation stone is not known. Information/photographs are invited. Foundation stone of the Fellowship Centre records: To the glory of God - this stone was unveiled by - Miss A M Cope - Mr L P East - 6th December 1969. A foundation stone on the manse records: This stone was set by - Rev A C Manefield BA - President of the Conference - on 19th June 1954.

Comments

The Kiama Uniting Church was opened in 1851. The first Wesleyan Methodist service in the Kiama district was held in 1843, in a private home. These continued until the church building was opened. The original church building, now the hall, was completely empty and the entire building, both inside and out was being painted white when the (2019) photograph was taken. The church celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2001. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
