| Foundation Stone Notes: | (Daily Telegraph - 18 March 1885) "NEWS BY TELEGRAPH. St- Patrick's Church. Gundagai- GUNDAGAI, Tuesday. — The foundation stone of St Patrick's new church was laid to-day by the Right Rev Dr Lannigan. The ceremony commenced at 9 o'clock with a procession from the old church to the foundation. After blessing the stone and the foundation, mass was celebrated by Father Hennessy and the Very Rev Prior Butler gave an eloquent address appropriate to the occasion. Over £800 in cash was laid on the stone. About 1200 persons were present". The text on the foundation stone is not known. Information/photographs are invited.
