Foundation Stone Notes: | (National Advocate - 21 April 1911) "Methodist: Church for Forest Reefs LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE. MILLTH0RPE, Thursday. The foundation stone' of the new Methodist Church at Forest Reefs was laid yesterday by the Rev. B. J. Meek, of Bathurst. Both he and Rev. J. .G. Martin, of Orange, delivered addresses. The sum of £83 odd was laid on the stone, some of the donors subscribing £15 each. A concert and tea-meeting held at night resulted in £21 being raised. The new church will be of brick, and will cost about £400 when completed. There is about £275 already in hand". The Forest Reefs Uniting Church.
(Sydney Morning Herald - 11 November 1911) "CHURCHES. FOREST REEFS, Friday. The new Methodist church was opened last Wednesday by the Rev. J. B. Penman, of Mudgee. A tea-meeting and entertainment was held in the evening; The sum of £48 was collected for the day, and only £25 remains to clear the debt of £400".
(Daily Telegraph - 13 November 1911) "MILLTHORPE, Saturday.— There was a very large congregation at the opening ot the Methodist Church, Forest Reefs, on Wednesday. The proceeds of the day were £72, which, with the amount already in hand, leaves a debt of only £18 on a substantial and serviceable brick church".
