In 1862 a wooden church was erected at the corner of Cross and Clear Streets but was destroyed by a storm and replaced by another. In 1873 the first settled minister arrived. St Andrew's, a Gothic Revival church with octagonal belltower and spire, was opened in 1877. It features stained glass memorial windows. The roof was renewed in 1927, the spire in 1991. The current St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Forbes is part of the Presbytery of Central West. Its property built in 1875, was absorbed into the Uniting Church upon its formation in 1977. "However, a small group of continuing Presbyterians met in private homes, the Masonic Hall and Baptist church until the group was able to rent St Andrew's back from the Uniting Church in 1982, and ultimately to purchased the church and adjoining block back from the Uniting Church". (Forbes Advocate, 10/12/2018). More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 25/3/2020.
