(Sydney Morning Herald - 9 September 1868)   "RELIGIOUS MEMORANDA. CHURCH OF ENGLAND The foundation-stone of St. Stephen's Church, Kurrrajong, was laid by the Bishop of Sydney, on the 26th ultimo."

The foundation stone was laid by the Rt Rev Frederic Barker, DD., Bishop of Sydney.The text of the foundation stone is not known. Information/photographs are invited.

The St Stephen's Anglican Church, Kurrajong was opened on 15/4/1869. It was erected on land donated by Mr Alfred Jones and Mr John Lamrock.

(Sydney Morning Herald - 20 April 1869)   "KURRAJONG (FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT) Opening of the new Episcopalian Church. The opening of the new church, to be called the church of St. Stephen the Martyr, took place on Thursday last, in the presence of a large number of parishioners and others. The building, the foundation-stone of which was laid about six months ago, is situated between North and South Kurrajong, and in the locality of a considerably large population."

The church celebrated its centenary in 1969. A cemetery adjoins the church.
