(Goulburn Herald & Chronicle - 25 October 1871) "The church was formally opened for public worship on Sunday last. Shortly before eleven o'clock the seatings were well filled; and a number of forms, which in anticipation of the crowd of the congregation had been placed along the aisles, also found occupants. The number present has been estimated at about six hundred persons."
