The former St Matthew's Anglican Church, East Kangaloon was in the Parish of Burrawong and the Diocese of Sydney. The church was established in the 1860s, and was one of the first in the district. It was replaced by the present church building which was opened on 7/1/1902 by the Ven Archdeacon John D Langley. [The building was also shared for a time with the Presbyterian Church, and it is possible it was initially built in a joint arrangement with the Presebyterian Church?]. The church closed about 1968, and the property is now privately owned. The East Kangaloon Cemetery adjoins the property, with headstones dating back to 1866. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 10/2/2019.
