The Granville Baptist Church began as an outreach ministry of the Parramatta Baptist Church in the early 1880s. This fellowship opened its first church building in Blaxcell Street on 19/4/1885. The Granville Baptist Church was officially formed on 11/10/1888. The present church building was opened on 28/10/1911, being dedicated by the Rev B Gawthrop. The church celebrated its centenary in 1988.1 The Granville Baptist Church and the South Granville Baptist Church joined together about 2012 to form the Granville Community Baptist Church.
