The present Holroyd Uniting Church, Guildford was formed when the Mountford, Merrylands and McCredie Uniting Churches joined on 1/1/2010, with the first combined service held on 3/1/2010. After a year at the Merrylands Uniting Church the congregation moved to worship at the McCredie Memorial Church on 26/6/2011. Services continue at McCredie Memorial Church with the Merrylands property being closed in 2016.
The church began with a worship service at the summer-home of Mr George McCredie on 6/5/1894. On 20/5/1894 the first service was held in Linwood Hall, erected by Mr McCredie for the use of the Presbyterian people of Guildford. It was used until the present church building was erected in 1905. It was built in memory of George McCredie, who had died in 1903. The church celebrated its 50th anniversary on 5/6 May 1945 and its centenary in 2005.
More historical information/photographs of the church(es)/congregation(s) are invited. Photograph uploaded 12/9/2020.
