Kanwal Seventh-Day Adventist Church

The Kanwal Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Gorokan began in 1949, when a small group met in the community hall in Wallarah Road. By 1962 land for a church builing was donated by the Harker and Boyd families, and in 1963 the first church building was opened at the cnr Wallarah & Minnamurra Roads. After additions and alterations the church was dedicated on 13/11/1971. A new church bulding was opened at the present site in November 1982, and the previous property sold to the Anglicans. It was officially dedicated on 23/11/1991. Unfortunately on 21/5/1994 the church building was completely destroyed by fire. The present church building was opened and dedicated on 26/4/1995.
