Goolgowi Uniting Church

The Goolgowi Uniting Church is now part of the Parish of Hillston-Gunbar and the Presbytery of the Riverina. Early services in the area were provided by the Methodists from Griffith and the Presbyterians from Hillston-Gunbar. In 1951 discussions between the two denominations began about the erection of a church building. Both had land, but it was decided the Presbyterian site was more suited. With the donation of materials and much volunteer labour, the church building was dedicated by the Moderator, the Rev Robert Gray on the 20/4/1954. Close co-operation continued and when the Uniting Church was formed in 1977, the amalgamagion of the congregations was easily undertaken.
