(Daily Advertiser, Wagga Wagga - 23 October 1937) "ST. LUKE'S MULLENGANDRA The first church in this centre was built in 1875 at a cost of £300 on land given by Mr. John' Morris, who was for many years lessee of the Mullengandra run. The first church was described as the Morris Memorial Church. It was consecrated on March 7, 1879 by Bishop Thomas. This was really the original parish church of the Germanton parish. It 'was built of brick. It is said that the brick used was of a second rate character, and the church was then cemented. The truth of the statement about the bricks was evident when some of the bricks were examined. This church was demolished and rebuilt of weatherboard In 1927 during the incumbency of the Rev. J. M. Thomas. Curiously enough it was not dedicated until September 27, 1934".
The former St Luke's Anglican Church, Mullengandra is now closed, and the property has been sold. The church had been part of the Parish of Holbrook and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The building had also been used by the local Uniting Church for services. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
