A plaque attached to the front of the church, in part, records: The History of St Paul's - The Presbyterian Church in Lismore commenced with the first service conducted in 1856 by Rev Dr John Dunmore Lang. (of Lang Park Brisbane fame). Lismore district welcomed its first and only minister for the area in 1871 - Rev Daniel Blue of the Presbyterian Church.
