The present Mona Vale Anglican Church was built and opened in 1907, and significantly extended and rededicated on 10/10/1982.
Mona Vale Anglican Church began when the minister from St Matthew's, Manly travelled to conduct occasional services in the district. The first St John's Anglican Church building was opened on 21/9/1871, on a site overlooking Bongan Bongan beach. However, to be closer to the township it was relocated in 1881 to the Winnererremy Estate in Bayview Road. This building due to its dilapidated state, after 35 years of service and being relocated, was replaced by the original 1907 stone building.
