The Manly Village Uniting Church is part of the Northern Beaches Uniting Church. The present church building is the third erected in the Manly area for the Methodist Church. It was opened on 20/6/1925 by the Rev Harold Wheen, President of the Conference. It replaced the church building at Pittwater Rd. & Raglan St. which was opened on 22/7/1901 by Mrs E E Baylis. This propery was sold about 1924, and the church met in the Rialto Theatre until the new/present church building was erected/opened. The first Wesleyan Church at Manly held its first service on 5/2/1887, and was opened by the Rev Dr R Sellors, President of the Conference. It was erected in Belgrave St (now Pittwater Rd.) on swampy land, purchased in 1878, and was an unsuitable long term site.
