The former St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Larnook closed many years ago.
'A small Italian community established themselves there following the Second World War to take advantage of the rich volcanic soil. After the Scalabrinians arrived they began to say mass in one of the local homes for this community. In 1965 with the help of local men they built this little church of St Joseph the Worker. Though no longer used it still sits by the side of the road as a memorial to a part of our history now sadly passed away.'1. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 9/11/2020.
The exact address is not known. Information invited.
