The Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Sawtell is part of the Parish of Sawtell [with communities at Toomina, Boambee, Bonville and Crossmaglen] and the Diocese of Lismore. The Parish of Sawtell was formed on 1/7/1983. The present church building "was built originally as a Church hall in, or perhaps slightly before, 1951. By late 1974 it was in a sad state of disrepair, and during the next 12 months it was restored and extended by voluntary labour, and with the assistance of a Federal Government grant, was transformed into a Youth Camp. With the establishemnt of the Sawtell parish the building became the parish church. During 2018/19 major restoration and renovation work was completed on the church...
