The South Grafton Anglicans was founded about 1880 when the first St Matthew's Anglican Church was opened in Bent Street. A new larger building was opened on the same site in 1948. The present church building in Tyson Street was opened on 26/11/2000 by the Right Rev. Philip Huggins, Bishop of Grafton.1 The South Grafton cemetery is located near the church.
