The former St John's Anglican Church, Tubbamurra (Abbey Green) now appears to have closed. The church had been part of the Parish of Guyra and the Diocese of Armidale. The church building was erected in 1922. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 9/1/2025.
Note: The church building was the headquarters for the 5000 searchers, seven aircraft, 30 police and 80 soldiers, which searched for 4 year old Steven Wallis, who had been lost in the bush (2/1960) - he was found safe and well and the event was the genesis for the song 'Little Boy Lost' .
