Comments
The present Bethesda Lutheran Church, Beenleigh building was erected/opened in 1947. The congregation was established when it separated from an earlier Lutheran congregation in 1883, and purchased the Good Templar's Hall (on the current site), which they repaired and dedicated as St Peter's, on 14/9/1884. It was enlarged in 1912 and replaced in 1947 by the current building. The church acted as host to the first Convention of the General Synod of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Australia, on its formation in 1925. When three congregations amalgamated at this site in 1990, the church was re-named Bethesda Lutheran Church. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
