The first Mass in Dalby was celebrated at the home of Mr & Mrs Samuel Stewart in 1851.
In 1867 the first Catholic Church was built at the corner of Bunga & Jimbour Streets. When the walls were nearly completed a cyclone reduced them to rubble. Nevertheless the congregation soldiered on and completed the church. In 1886 the church was replaced with a wooden one, which was attacked by white ants and was demolished in 1917. The present church followed and was built at the corner of Bunga & Cunningham Streets. It was refurbished and blessed by Bishop William Morrison on 19/12/1993.
