The St Alban's Anglican Church, Cunnamulla is part of the Maranoa-Warrego Anglican Mission Area (which also includes main centres at Mitchell and Charleville) in the Cunnamulla Parish and the Anglican Church Southern Queensland. The present church building was completed in 1963, and replaced the original church building which was opened on 20/6/1896. The church marked the opening of its new 1963 building, with 60th anniversay celebrations in May 2023 [Sourced from: https://anglicanfocus.org.au/2023/08/01/a-diamond-in-the-dust-st-albans-cunnamulla-celebrates-60th-anniversary/].  More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/12/2018.

A story from the opening of the 1896 church building: 'On Saturday 20 June 1896, Bishop John Francis Stretch offcially opened St Alban's Anglican church in Cunnamulla. Stretch was injured on his way to Cunnamulla, as he shot at a turkey from his buggy, frightening the horses, resulting in a crash with a tree stump. Although he sustained 'serious contusions' to his forehead and hand, he was still able to perform the ceremony.'
