The St James' and St John's Catholic Church, Clifton. The first Catholic church building erected in Clifton was opened on 21/10/1888 by Archbishop Dunne.
The second church building on this site was opened on 22/04/1900, also by Archbishop Dunne, assisted by Fr J Horan and Fr M Potter. It was known as the Mowen Memorial Church as it was the monument built in memory of local businessman James Mowen who left the legacy which funded the building.
In May 2010 the parish celebrated its centenary.
More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 3/3/2017.
