The Rev William Moore began Wesley Methodist worship in the district in 1847. An original wooden church was erected about 1866 in Stanley Street, and was known as the Stanley Street Church. In 1886 the wooden church was relocated to a new/present site purchased in Linton Street, and renamed the Wesley Methodist Church. The brick church was built in 1903 and opened on 22/11/1903 by Rev W G Taylor, a previous minister of the congregation, but then superintendent of the Central Mission in Sydney. The church was renamed Wesley Kangaroo Point Uniting Church following the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia in 1977.
More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/4/2017.
