This former church building is now privately owned.
The first building for St. Peter’s Mission Church at Moggill Road was opened on 11th July 1937 with the dedication of the Sanctuary by Archbishop Wand. The building was originally a Methodist Church which was purchased by the No. 26 Loyal Orange Lodge of Queensland.
Prior to the dedication the building had been used for Church of England services and Sunday School. The building and land and also the adjoining 24 perches at the corner of Rylatt Street and Moggill Road were purchased in May, 1936. The Mission church commenced under the name of “The Venture of Faith” Mission.
A new Church Hall At. St. Peter’s, Moggill Road was opened on the 6th December 1959, the Sanctuary being dedicated by Archbishop Halse.
The church was closed about 1989.
More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/10/2017.
