In - later years, a new brick Manse was erected beside the church - to replace the older one at 82 Lyons Street. A plaque records: This Bell - was donated - To the Church - of - St John the Baptist - by - V and A E Dagg - 1923. A plaque records: 82 Lyons Street - The original owner of this lot was Russia Lutvey of Gayndah. - The land was purchased in 1938 by the Church of England - and the original Manse was built here. After World War II it - also served as the town's Ambulance centre with Walter - Ferguson ('Fergie') in charge. It is now used as - a general-purpose building.
