St John's Presbyterian Church began with a meeting in 1933, involving members from St Stephen's Presbyterian Church. Work then began to establish a new church which was opened on 26/1/1936 by the State Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, the Rev F W Gresham.
The first minister of St John's was the Rev McKnight Jones, son of Rev D S Jones, the minister at St Stephen's.
Major extensions and renovations were carried out in the early 1980's. The rebuilt church being redicated on 26/4/1981 by Professor F N Lee.
More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/4/2017.
