The former Nambour Uniting Church, (Maud Street) congregation combined for worship with the St Andrew's Uniting Church, Nambour congregation after a fire damaged its buildings on 24/4/1987. The first record of a Methodist service in the district shows it was conducted by James Walley in the home of William and Emma Perren, at Petrie Creek, in the 1880s. In 1891 land was donated for a Protestant Church building by Mr  T Howard, and after acceptance by the Wesleyans, a building was erected and opened in 1892. Over the years additional works were undertaken by the congregation, including the erection of a new church building in 1902, at its original site. In 1950 the original property was sold and the present site acquired, on which the new Nambour Methodist Memorial Church building was opened on 15/5/1954 by the Rev G E Holland, President of Conference. It became part of the Unting Church in Australia when it was formed on 22/6/1977. In 1984 the St Andrew's and the Nambour Uniting Church congregations made the decision to become one congregation meeting in two places (St Andrew's and Maud Street). In 1987, after a fire damaged the Maud Street property the two congregations combined for worship at St Andrew's, which was formally renamed the Nambour Uniting Church. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/10/2019 & 16/1/2025.
