The former Roma Church of Christ property is now privately owned. The building was originally owned by the Roma Congregational Church. It was opened on 20 October 1872 by Rev Edward Griffith, then minister of Wharf Street Congregational Church, Brisbane
The minister, Rev J J Gammie, who arrived in Roma in 1870, resigned through ill health in 1875. The chapel operated as a Congregational Church till 1887 when it was rented by the Wesleyans for two years and in 1896 sold to the Churches of Christ for two hundred pounds. The Church of Christ moved out of the building in 1991 to Currey Street. (See separate entry).
More historical information/photographs of the former church(es)/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 11/3/2020.
