"The Hazeldean Presbyterian Church was built in 1933 and located on Hazeldean Station, owned by the Farmer family, about 30 kilometres west of Calliope township.
Its construction was due to the initiative and generosity of the Neill-Ballantine family of Galloway Plains out of respect for several of this family who had died, particularly a son Gordon who died in January 1933 at the age of 19....
The first service of worship was held in the Church on Sunday October 15th 1933 when it was dedicated 'To the Glory of God'. The Reverend A M McAllister ...was Minister of Gladstone Parish at the time...
In 1990, with the agreement of district people, it was decided to discontinue services at the Church...
It arrived at the Port Curtis Historical Village.. on January 27th [1991] ...Rev A W Laurie MBE who was the minister of St Andrew's Gladstone...conducted a Presbyterian Service in the Church on Sunday June 16th 1991, to mark the handover of the building to the Village by the congregation".
