St Mark's Anglican Church, Yungaburra is part of the Parish of the Atherton Tablelands and the Diocese of North Queensland. The first service in the church building was held on 5/12/1912.
"It was common practice in Yungaburra in the early 1900s before any churches were built, that services were held in the Williams Estate Hall, the only large meeting place in the town, situated in Mulgrave Road. The Catholic and Methodist congregations also met in the same building. In early 1911 the Church of England Building Committee was formed to build their own church...On Friday, 7th November, [1913] Bishop Feetham visited Yungaburra, and was met by a number of friends who were instrumental in building our 'beautiful little church' here...In the evening the Church was solemnly dedicated with the name 'St Mark's Church'." See Below for reference p6 & p9.
Renovations and restoration has been carried out over the years, with the last major efffort concluded in December 2001.
More historical informaton/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/9/2018.
