The AIR Church, Varsity Lakes, (formerly Metro Church) is part of  the Australian Christian Churches movement. The Metro Church began in March 2006 and held its meetings in a rented cinema at Southport. It moved in 2008 to an old church property at 116 Ridgeway Ave., Southport, gifted to the church, which was sold in 2018 when the church moved to its present site.
