The former St Ninian's Anglican Church, Clarendon is now closed, and the property was sold about 2019. It had been a part of the Diocese of The Murray. The Anglican Church began in Clarendon about 1889, in a property rented from the former Clarendon Baptist Union Church, which had closed in March 1880. St Ninian's purchased the property in 1922, and after renovations dedicated the building in May 1926. The Baptist church had began in Clarendon about 1848, with the opening services for a new place of worship being held on 18/3/1855. An early incumbent was the Rev James Daniel who was the pastor from 1858, till his retirement in 1871. One grave is visible with an iron surround, but no headstone. A plaque at the Clarendon and Kangarilla General Cemetery records: 'Headstones relocated from the Clarendon Baptist Union Church later known as the Clarendon Saint Ninians Church of England'. More historical information/photographs of the former church(es)/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 16/11/2018.
