The former Hammond Methodist Church closed in 1955, and the building was demolished. The building was located at cnr Randall St. (formerly Fourth St.) and Hammond Rd. (formerly Second St.) - not clear which cnr. The church building was the first in the town being opened in 1884. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/8/2024.
Note: The photographs were provided by Barry Horner. His maternal grandfather Sam Gum, was the Church Secretary during the 1930s and his grandmother, Elsie Gum the organist. His mother and her sisters also helped make up the congregation - Joyce, Dorothy and Rosalie Gum.
