The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kimba is part of the Parish of Cleve and the Diocese of Port Pirie. The church building was opened by the Bishop of Port Pirie on 30/5/1954. The building had previously served the people of Gordon from 1894, but over a period of  60 years, due to the force of circumstances no people remained there. The congregation at Kimba in the meantime continued to grow and sought to have their own church  building. In view of the good condition of the former Gordon church, it was decided to dismantle it and transport it to Kimba, for re-erection and dedication there.
