The present St Paul's Lutheran Church, Hahndorf was built many years after a split in the St Michael's Lutheran congregation, in about 1840. An earlier St Paul's Church building was dedicated in 1858 in Windsor Avenue. (It still exists as the Louise Flierl Mission Museum - see separate entry). A St John's Lutheran congregation was also established in the mid 1850s, and merged with St Paul's about 1865. In 1874 the combined St Paul's Lutheran congregation merged with the St Michael's congregation - this union lasted for little over a year - St Paul's congregation was reformed in 1875. By the late 1880s the old St Paul's church building had become delapidated and the present church building was erected. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
