The foundation stone of the present church building was laid on 27/10/1902 by the Archbishop of Sydney and Primate of Australia, Dr W Saumarez-Smith, accompanied by Bishops of Adelaide, Christchurch New Zealand, Tasmania, Melanesia and New Guinea, 80 preists and 2000 people. The Church congress was in Adelaide at that time.
