The St George's Anglican Church, Georgetown is in the Parish of Georgetown and the Diocese of Willochra. Regular services were held in the district from about 1857, conducted by visiting clergy. The first incumbent, the Rev R R Taylor, was appointed in 1887. The first service was held on 17/4/1887, conducted by the Rev J Orchard, Rector from Jamestown. The decision to erect a church building was taken shortly thereafter, with the building opened on 7/6/1888, Archdeacon George Dove officiating. The porch was erected and dedicated on 13/9/1898. To meet the needs of the congregation, further alterations to the church building have been carried out over the years. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 19/1/2023.
