The foundation stone for this the first church building in Ryan Street was laid by Mary Ann Meredith on 21/9/1864. A document was placed in a bottle, and buried beneath the stone, it  read: The foundation stone of this church dedicated to the worship and service of God, and in memory of All Saints', was laid by Mary Ann, wife of John Meredith, first surgeon to the Moonta Mines, on 21st day of September 1864.

An information plaque records: Druids Hall - 1866 - The original Anglican Church was erected at the rear in 1865, this building followed in 1866 as the school church room. It was sold to the Druids in 1902 & was used as a meeting hall until 1988.

The first All Saints Anglican Church, Moonta was erected at 8 Ryan Street and was licensed on 23/4/1865. The church building was formally consecrated on 23/7/1865, by the Rt Rev Dr Augustus Short, Bishop of Adelaide. It is assumed this church closed when the new All Saints' church in Blanche Terrace & Milne Terrace was opened in 1874 (see separate entry - 5558).
