The former Macaw Creek Wesleyan Methodist Church building was erected on land donated by the South Australian Company, and the church was opened on 28/3/1858. Services continued until the early 1880s, with the church building being demolished around 1900. The stones from the building were used in the erection of the Riverton Methodist Sunday School hall. 1900, was the time of Union between the various branches of Methodism, at which time many church buildings were closed due to amalgamation. The church building site is now marked by a Cairn. A cemetery was located beside the former church, but at some stage all the headstones were removed. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 3/4/2025.
