The current Mount Gambier Uniting Church building was erected for the St Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
The earliest Presbyterian services in Mount Gambier were held in the Court House about 1858. The first Presbyterian Church was opened in Elizabeth Street in 1860. The land for the present church building was donated by Mr Millar, and the St Andrew's Presbyterian Church was opened on 10/12/1871. (For more information see: http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2008/06/04/2264702.htm ).
The building became part of the Uniting Church in Australia after its formation in June 1977.
More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/1/2017.
