Foundation stones were laid on 17/8/1875 by Mesdames Lamshed, Miller, and Greenslade and the Rev T M Howe. The text on the foundation stones is not known. Information/photographs are invited.

A stone tablet records: To the Memory - of - The Pioneers - of this Church - 1875.

A foundation stone on the Sunday School Hall, erected behind the church building, records: This stone was laid - by - Mrs E Greenslade - To the Glory of God - and the good of His children - Novr 2nd 1904.

A stone tablet recods: Erected - To the Memory - of - Elias Greenslade - The donor of this porch - 1912.

A stone tablet records: Diamond Jubilee - Memorial - 1936 - Erected - In remembrance of the - Pioneers - Maitland Church - 1875 ~ 1935.

A plaque records: Commemorating - Maitland Methodist Church - Centenary - 1875 ~ 1975.

An information sign records: Uniting Church - The church was opened on Christmas morning, 1875. It was built by contractor J Swann, and mason C Hicks, at a cost of 800 [pounds]. In 1904, the stone Sunday School Hall was built at the rear of the church. A porch was added in 1912 and a wood and iron kindergarten room in 1913. A series of memorial windows was installed in 1921. - In 1969, the Methodist and Congregational Churches in Maitland amalgamated to become the United Church, now part of the Uniting Church of Australia.

The Maitland Uniting Church is part of the Wimala Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. The church building was opened on 25/12/1875. A porch was added in 1912, and over the years more alterations and memorial windows have been added. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 24/2/2022 & 23/3/2025.
