The St Matthew's Anglican Church, Poonindie is part of the Parish of Port Lincoln and the Diocese of Willochra. The building was erected in 1854/55, to be a school, but on completion became a church, also serving the Poonindie Aboriginal Mission Station. The first service was conducted on 17/5/1855 by Archdeacon Matthew Hale, although the building was not then complete. When the Mission closed 44 years later, the church remained part of the Anglican Church. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 8/11/2021 & 10/8/2024.
